CCS GR 2 Thanksgiving Center Day
- We began the center time with a group “Thanksgiving” acrostic poem.

- We then divided the students into five groups with five students per group. The students then rotated to 5 different Thanksgiving-related centers.

(1) Popcorn Estimates
-
(2) Pick a Turkey…
-
(3) This center was a Thanksgiving Prayer writing activity to be shared at the Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day. The students wrote what they were thankful for and then took enough cards for each member of their family to write their own prayer.
(4) Thanksgiving Bracelet craft. Each colored bead represented something from the story of the Pilgrims.
(5) Snack Center. Each food represented a part of the story of the Pilgrims. The students read about it first and then selected the foods they wished to eat for their snack time.
-
Snack pre-reading activity about the foods and how each of these foods remind us of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving.
Plus some fun and games!
We had a GREAT time at our Thanksgiving Center Day! Thanks to all the moms and the grandmother who helped. We couldn’t have done it without you! We are so thankful for all of you!
