On August 29, we were blessed to have Caleb’s grandfather come to our classes to tell us all about his time as a missionary in Brazil. He had lots of wonderful artifacts and pictures to show us. He also arranged for us to taste different foods from that region of the world.

3rd Grade Field Trip This Thursday

Hello, Parents!

WOO HOO!  Our field trip to Nebraska City is this Thursday!  We are getting so excited for our road trip to Arbor Day Farm!  Here are a few things to remember:

–It will be important for your child to have a hearty breakfast that morning.  We won’t eat until about 12:00.
–We will be loading up our little travelers between 8:30-8:35.  Our goal is to hit the road at 8:40.
–We will return about 2:30.  At that time we will eat an orchard apple and watch a Johnny Appleseed video.
–The forecast for Thursday is calling for beautiful weather; but remember, we live in Nebraska!  Our trip will happen–rain or shine.
–Please make certain your child has a jacket for the cool morning hours and APPROPRIATE WALKING SHOES.  The trails are sometimes a bit muddy and rough, so proper shoes are a must.
–I have noticed that there are lots of mosquitos out right now.  You may want to apply bug repellent to your child before sending them to school.
–Please send a lunch with your child that is labeled with his/her name.  The kiddos seem to get very hungry on this field trip, so please supply ample amounts of food.  A disposable water bottle is a great beverage option for your child.
