We had a great day celebrating CCS. Students dressed from the Renaissance time period. Gotta love the castle! I think Becca wins the most creative award! I loved the peasant, kings and queen, and knight as well. Josie and Logan did a great job jousting the dragon to protect the castle.

During a recent history unit, students chose to do a poster on the Artistic and Intelligent Athenians or the War Loving Spartans. It looks like Sparta was the state of choice.

OPPD issued a challenge to all 5th graders and we accepted. Using 20 strands of spaghetti, 1 yard of tape and string, build the tallest structure that could hold a marshmallow at the top. Out of 8 teams we had 1 team actually complete the challenge and 1 team come close. It was much harder than we thought! Congrats to Ben, Matt, and Rosa who built a structure 19 1/2 inches tall.

It is always nice to have student teachers! Miss Josie and Mr. Lucas both did a fabulous job teaching the class their math concepts for the day.
